Other Presentations Made During Court of Honor of Troop 138

Chicopee, Sept 21 – Eagle Scout Awards were presented to Gerard and Leslie Fournier at Troop 138 Court of Honor ceremonies tonight in the parish hall of St Rose de Lima Church. The two boys have 71 merit badges, Gerard with 39 and Leslie, 32.

LIFE SCOUT AWARDS

Life Scout awards were given to Richard Fulton and Earl Roberts and Richard Dupont was made a Star Scout.

Ceremonies were opened with the invocation by Rev. Laurier L'Africain, assistant pastor. Romauld N. Thabeault was chairman.

Two-year Cub Scout service pins were awarded to Mrs. Lucy Thibeault den mother; Don Chiefs, Leslie Fournier, and Richard Fulton, and Cub Scouts David Hall and Paul Thibeault. One year pins went to den mothers Mrs. Doris Sampson and Cub Scouts L. Carrier, Leonard Sampson and Paul Labonte. A Webelo award was given to Paul Thibeault and George Labonte was graduated to troop 138.

Tenderfoot pins were presented to Richard Hall, Robert Geoffrey and William Dotter; second class to Roland Crevier, Jay Labonte, Julius Lombardi, Eli Masse, Jr., Kenneth Mireault, and Robert Talbot and first class, Robert Bonneau, Richard Gaboury, David Lefebvre, Arthur Morganstern, and Theodore Yargeau.

An explorer rating consisting of emergency skills, craft skills, and the bronze award, was given to Gerard Fournier.

Merit badges were presented as follows: Richard Dupont, pioneering; Gerard Fournier, camping, plumbing, rowing, surveying, and weather; Leslie Fournier, hiking; Richard Gaboury, cooking, first aid: Richard Fulton, athletics and weather; David Lefebvre, home repairs, and music; Arthur Morganstern, cooking: Earl Roberts, athletics, public health, and surveying and Richard Viens, camping painting, and wood carving.

A special presentation of a scout statuet was made to Louis T Belisle, chairman of the Cub Scout Pack committee in recognition of his eight years of service.

Short talks were given by Mayor Trybulski, chief Scout Executive John C. Norsk, Field Executive George Cohen, Police Chief Fisher Thaddeus Garczynski, the mayor's secretary, Comdr. Robert Quintal of American Legion Post 337, district commissioner, Edgar N. Desrosiers; district chairman, Scorates Geunocopoulos, and the Rev. Charles N. Fortin, Fr. L'Africain, and Rev. Normand A Ricard. Refreshments were served by members of the Scouts mothers club.
