Chicopee, Aug. 31 – Five awards will be presented to outstanding members of Boy Scout Troop 138 of Aldenville at a court of honor Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. in the St Rose de Lima auditorium in Aldenville. Four first class and a member of second class and tenderfoot Scout awards will be presented.
Leslie Fournier of 36 Kaveney Street, and Gerard Fournier of 474 Grattan St. will receive the coveted eagle badge, Souting's highest award. Life awards will be given to Richard Fulton and Earl Roberts. A star award will go to Richard Dupont. The scouts passed a board of review conducted by Rene Paquette, scoutmaster and neighborhood commissioner: Edgar N. Desrosiers, district commissioner, and Julian Frigon, neighborhood commissioner.
It is the first time Eagle awards have been earned by troop members since it was organized 18 years ago. Scoutmaster Paquette will send invitations to Mayor Walter J. Trybulski, Police Chief Theodore A. Fisher, and Thaddeus Garczynski, mayors secretary as well as all former scoutmasters of the troop to attend the court of honor.
Scout officials to take part in the ceremonies include John C. Norsk, chief Scout executive, and Joseph Cohen field executive of the Hampden Council, Mr. Desrosiers, district commissioner, and Mr. Paquette and Mr. Frigon neighborhood commissioners.
