Aldenville Court of Honor Attended by Many in Parish Hall

Chicopee, Feb 7 - Many awards were made at the Court of Honor held this evening in St Rose de Lima parish auditorium by Boy Scouts Troop 138. Parents and friends were present at the ceremonies with special guests including Rev. Charles N. Fortin, pastor, Rev. Norman Ricard, Scout chaplain, Joseph Cohen, field scout executive; Atty. Socrates Geanaeopoulos district commissioner.

Also present were Edward Ciosek, Kirby School faculty member and new councilor for citizenship and civic merit badges; Gerald LeBland scout master of troop 132 of Chicopee; Charles W. Fournier, advancement chairman and members of the Aldenville scout committee attended.

Conducting the court was Romulald "Buster" Thabeault newly appointed general chairman of the Boy Scout Troop 138 committee and institutional representative who was assisted by Scoutmaster Rene G. Paquette, advisor of the explorer post, Bernard Boissenneault and Cubmaster Adrien Boisvert.

Weblo presentations were made to the following cub scouts: Alan Chaffee, Benjamin Brennan, Richard Hall, George Escott, and Richard Champagne. Second class awards went to Ronald Boutin, Richard Rupont, Richard Gaboury, Pierre St. Andre, and Theodore Yargeau. First class adwards were given to Joseph Bardon, Richard Fulton, Donald Gill, Robert Hendrye, Earl Roberts, and Richard Viens.

Star Scout awards were presented to Robert Harvey and David Plourde while Life Scout awards the highest given tonight were given by Scoutmaster Paquette to Robert Boisvert, Leslie Fournier, and Gerard Fournier.

Merit badges were awarded as follows: Robert Benoit, masonary, cement work, first aid and automobile; Joseph Bardon, firemanship; Richard Dupont, art, dramatics, bookbinding, painting, home repairs and carpentry: Leslie Fournier, art, dramatics, bookbinding, civics, public speaking, carpentry, wood carving, cooking and painting.

Graduating from Boy Scouts into the explorer post were Gerard Fournier, Richard Potvin, and receiving the apprentice explorers awards were Donald Gill, Robert Hendry, David Plourde, Richard Viens, and Gerard Fournier.

Sunday as a climax of Boy Scout week there will be a father and son communion breakfast. Holy communion will be received at the 7 a.m. mass after which breakfast will be followed at the Red Barn. Invited guests to the affair are Mayor Walter Trybulski Chief of Police Theodore Fisher and Mr. Desrosiers.
