Les and Connie shared a love for the nature. Through activities with the Audubon Society, Conservation Commission, and other groups they did their part to protect the environment and promote conservation.

In the Conservation Commission Les had helped in the efforts to have city owned land off Slate Road, known as the "Buena Vista Lot", designated as conservation land. Large bird feeders were built and placed in these woods during the winter months. I recall many times going with my dad to bring large burlap sacks of bird seed to fill these feeders. << Return to Family Life
