Throughout my childhood we went to Cape Cod often and have stayed in almost every town there. My most cherished Cape Cod memories from this time were when we would vacation (during 1969 - 1972)at a saltbox cottage in Orleans.

It was a cozy cottage in a quiet section not far from Skaket Beach. The saltbox was set back from the road and bordered a meadow in the back. My childhood friend Donna Iwanicki would come on vacation with us. We always had a great time.

Nearby was a favorite destination "Storyland", a sort of theme park based upon children's nursery rhymes and stories. Storyland was near the Orleans rotary at the far end of a shopping center parking lot (today Stop & Shop). << Return to Family Life
