Among Labor Day Brides will be Miss Constance Marion Godek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Godek of Burton St., Chicopee, who will exchange nuptial vows with Leslie Allan Fournier, son of Mrs. Lillian Fournier of Kaveney St., Aldenville.

The 8 a.m. ceremony will take place in St. Stanislaus Church, Chicopee.

Miss Godek has chosen her cousin, Miss Cheryl Cygan of Thompsonville, Conn., for honor attendant. Bridesmaids will be Miss Nancy Ann Grinuk of Chicopee, Miss Linda Godek of Chicopee Falls, and Miss Karen Ciosek of New Jersey, both cousins of the bride-elect. James Clapp of Lowell will serve Mr. Fournier as best man and ushering duties will be assumed by Arthur Fournier, Jr. of Connecticut, Bruce Gendron and Paul Gendron, both of Willimansett, all cousins of the groom.

The future bride has been feted at two surprise showers honoring her forthcoming marriage. Her honor attendant, Miss Cygan, hosted a personal shower at the home of the bride-elect, with her mother, Mrs. Jennie Cygan. A buffet lunch was enjoyed by the 20 guests. Mothers of the bridal couple were co-hostesses at a green back shower held at the Collegian Court restaurant in Chicopee. Two hundred friends and relatives were in attendance. The honored guest wore an orchid corsage.

Rev. Emil Majchrzak, pastor of St. Stanislaus Church in Chicopee, officiated at the holiday wedding of Miss Constance Marion Godek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Godek of Burton St., that town, and Leslie Allan Fournier, son of Mrs. Lillian Fournier of Kaveney St. Aldenville. The double-ring ceremony took place at 8 o'clock.

Attending her cousin as maid of honor was Miss Cheryl Cygan and bridesmaids were two other cousins, the Misses Linda Godek and Karen Crosek. Mary Ann Grinuk was junior bridesmaid.

James Clapp served as Mr. Fournier's best man and ushers were Arthur H. Fournier, Jr., and Bruce and Paul Gendron.

The bride choose a gown of silk alpaca fashioned with Sabrina neckline, long pointed sleeves, fitted waistbank and bell-shaped skirt terminating in a chapel train. A crown of pearls and crystals caught her bouffant veil of silk illusion, and she carried a bouquet of white roses and stephanotis centered with an orchid.

Mrs. Fournier is a student at Bay Path Junior College and is an employee of the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. Mr. Fournier is employed as assistant manager of Topps Department Store. The couple will make their home at 36 Kaveney St., Aldenville, upon return from a wedding trip.

CHICOPEE - Solemn nuptial vows were exchanged by Miss Constance Marion Godek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen M. Godek of 5 Burton St., and Leslie Allan Fournier, son of Mrs. Lillian Fournier of Kaveney St., Aldenville, in an 8 a.m. ceremony on Labor Day in St. Stanislaus Church. Rev. Emil Majchrzak officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Wedding music was played by the church organist and church decorations were of seasonal flowers. The bride wore a gown of silk alpaca designed with Sabrina neckline, bodice with inserted fitted waistband, and long pointed sleeves. Her bell-shaped skirt with back panel terminated in a chapel train. She wore a crown of pearls and crystals from which fell a three-tiered bouffant veil of French silk illusion. She carried a spray arrangement of white roses and stephanotis centered by an orchid interspersed with ivy.

The bride was attended by three cousins, Miss Cheryl Cygan of Thompsonville, Conn., as mail of honor; and Karen Ciosek of Waldwick, N.J., and Linda Godek of Chicopee as bridesmaids. Serving as junior bridesmaid was Mary Ann Grinak of this city. The maid of honor and the attendants wore identical gowns of autumn rose velvet and silk organza. The cocktail-length gowns featured a scoop neckline with velvet bodice and fitted drape of silk organza, short sleeves and bouffant skirt accented with a pour rose in the back. They wore matching crowns and carried sprays of gladioli interspersed with glamellias and stephanotis. James Clapp of Lowell served Mr. Fournier as best man and Arthur H. Fournier, Jr. , of Kensington, Conn., Bruce Gendron and Paul Gendron of this city were ushers. A reception followed at the VFW Hall on Front St. where the mothers of the bridal couple assisted in the receiving line. Mrs. Godek wore a pink crepe and Chantilly dress with a hat of matching velvet petals. Her clutch bag and shoes were of matching pink. She wore a corsage of pink roses.

Mr. and Mrs. Fournier left on a motor trip top Cape Cod. The bride traveled in a black and white suit-dress of crepe and silk with circular skirt and bolero jacket. She wore a petal hat with matching accessories. After the 11th the couple will be at home to friends at 36 Kaveney St. in Aldenville. Guests attending the wedding from out of town were Peter Ciosek of Waldwick, N.J., Stanley Zowtoneski of Waterbury, Conn., and William Cruickshank of Danvers. Mrs. Fournier is a student at Bay Path College, Longmeadow. Her husband is assistant manager at Topps Department Store.
