Chicopee, May 12 - Ernest Abert was appointed chairman of the flag design committee at last night's meeting of the Benedictus Club of Aldenville. The group is to prepare a model flag for adoption of the club's official emblem. The committee to be named in a few days will make its report at the June 8 meeting.
The members voted a sum of money for prizes for the St. Joan of Arc graduation exercises. They favored making a gift to Leslie Fournier, a member of the local Boy Scout troop, who gave his help in the showing of religious films during Lent. Rev. Adrien Remy, spiritual advisor, addressed the members.
The group then retired to the local bowling alleys. Prizes were awarded for high and low averages for both men and women. They were: high Norman Belanger and Mrs. Marguerite Desrochers, and low Joseph Gwodzik; and Mrs. Doris Bourbeau. The attendance prize was won by Richard Banville.
The annual family outing will be held in July at Look Park, Northampton. Mr. and Mrs. Leo DeJordy, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Banville, and Mr. and Mrs. Marcel Adams, will handle the arrangements.
