Troop 138 Committee to Meet Sunday With Chairman

Thursday, September 20, 1951

Chicopee, Sept. 15 - The program of the coming year and an outline of highlights which will be featured will be mapped out Sunday afternoon at a meeting of the committeemen of Boy Scout Troop 138 at the offices of A.J. Deslauriers on Grattan Street. Mr. Deslauriers, chariman of this group, will conduct the meeting.

Scoutmaster Rene G. Paquette said today that meetings hereafter would be on Thursday evenings instead of Wednesday, a second change having been made to enable Scoutmaster Paquette to attend a special course in Springfield.

The Scouts are currently busy preparing for a Board of Review scheduled for Thursday Sept. 27 and the Court of Honor which will take place Oct 4 both to be held in the St. Rose de Lima Parish Auditorium.

Scoutmaster Paquette has announced the promotions and leaders of newly divided classes in the troop. Robert Henry was raised to junior assistant scoutmaster while Leslie Fournier was appointed assistant leader. Roger Gauthier was named patrol.

Other leaders in new assignments include: Junior Assistant Scoutmaster Donald Gill leader of the tenderfoot class; Junior Assistant Scoutmaster Robert Hendry, leader of the second class group; and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster David Plourde leader of the first class division.

Merit badge work preparations is under the guidance of Assistant Scoutmasters Marcel Adams and Robert K. Therrien, Sr.
