Chicopee Aug 2 - George Verdon of Jefferson Ave. passed the ordeal ceremony for the Order of the Arrow, an honor society in Boy Scouting, Sunday at Camp Woronoak.

Verdon, 13, is a Life Scout in Troop 138 of Aldenville and is troop scribe. During his two weeks at Camp Woronoak he passed tests for several merit badges, bringing his number to 23. When he receives the nature merit badge, he will be eligible for the rank of Eagle Scout.

He is the third member of the troop to qualify for the Order of the Arrow. The others are Leslie Fournier and George Escott. Verdon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lucien Verdon, graduated in June from St. Joan of Arc School.
